Welcome to our website! Hopefully you will find the information you need about BB11.
General Notes (This text is lend from Blue Dome, UK)
The BB11 is a strict One Design, conceived in 1956 as a high quality. moderately priced yacht, equally suited both for day cruising and class racing. As a 'thoroughbred' racing boat, the BB11 is more economical to maintain than the majority of keel boat classes, and appeals particularly to the dinghy sailor who wants to continue class racing with more comfort and less expenditure of effort.
The BB11 is fast and dry, having an easily driven and particularly seaworthy hull form. Built in buoyancy is incorporated in the hull to ensure maximum safety under all conditions. the all-up weight of the BB11 is under three quarters of a ton and can easily be trailed by road.
The BB11 is designed and built exclusively by Borge Bringsvaerd, Drobak, Norway. The builder has combined the best traditions of Norwegian boat building with modern 'flow' production systems to create a quality product of outstanding value.
There are BB11 Fleets in more than 10 countries, and several hundred yachts have been built and are racing throughout the world. The strict One Desing nature of the class is ensured by rigid and up to date rules controlled by the International BB11 Association, and the fact that all boats are constructed by one builder ensures that as far as possible hulls are identical.
The class has been granted National status by the Royal Norwegian Yacht Club.

Dear Runar
We have now sailed B Brave all summer and have found the yacht a very nice yacht to sail .We have found one small problem and that is the Jib seems very slow to come across when going from tack to tack .We wonder if this just our yacht or a problem in all these yachts,or have we not rigged it properly? We would like to get a drawing or photo of a yacht rigged properly.Hoping to hear from you in the near future.
Cheers Robert Hogg Cromarty

Hello Runaborg
Next week I shall become the proud owner of a BB11 and I am going to join the Loch Lomond sailing club in Scotland. The club races an "open handicap" keel boat class, and they have asked me if I know the handicap number of a BB11, as they have never seen one before. I do not even know if there is such a thing as an internationally-recognised handicap number, but perhaps you know?
I find your site very useful, even though I don't read Norwegian! When I actually take posession of the boat I shall probably contact you again to see if you help me find out more about the history. In one of the old receipts it is described as "sail no 25", but that may not mean anything on UK boats. When I get the boat, I shall see if the registration plate is still in place.
Best regards
Roy Clarke

Can you give us an idea of who owns BB11S IN THE UK, and also can you suggest a method to propel her if the wind dies?
Kind regards
